GOODWICK United were in free-scoring mood as they moved up to third position in the Manderwood Pembrokeshire League division one with an emphatic 7-0 win over struggling Monkton Swifts at Phoenix Park on Saturday. Johnny Horgan and Rhys Dalling claimed a hat-trick apiece, to add to a penalty by Steve Evans, as United stayed within three points of early leaders Hakin United and Herbrandston. Monkton, who were hammered 9-0 by Hakin United the previous weekend, showed spirited defiance by throwing their bodies on the line, but Goodwick should have gone in at the half-time interval with a comfortable advantage. After a goalless opening period, Goodwick finally took the lead three minutes into the second half when Rhys Dalling beat three defenders in a superb run, and then hit a fierce left footed shot, giving the keeper no chance.
